The selected intern will have the opportunity to be exposed to all areas of managing our world-class restaurant. Main responsibilities will be to serve as a waiter and host to restaurant guests, welcoming, serving and assisting diners with their dining experience. You will also have exposure to all areas of restaurant management such food sourcing, kitchen organization and marketing (social media). As July is the beginning of our season, interns will also have the opportunity to observe the re-opening procedures of the restaurant. A full list of responsibilities is below.
Greet customers politely as they enter the restaurant.
Present menus to customers, explain menu items in terms of preparation, ingredients and presentation.
Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of the menu items and daily specials.
Manage all F&B and daily operations according to budgetary guidelines and highest standards.
Input orders into POS System.
Work with bartenders to fill beverage orders and kitchen staff to process and expedite food orders.
Work with the staff to manage the stocks
Ensure customers are satisfied with their experience, monitor customer’s needs, promptly handle requests
Maintain a clean and organized service area and comply with safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
Serve, promote and sell their house wine.
Potential candidates must be enrolled (and have completed a minimum of 1 year of study) in or be a graduate from an accredited collegiate culinary or restaurant management program.
Must be conversational in Spanish and English.
We will be looking for the following key traits: affinity for customer service, sales and communications skills, solid arithmetic skills/making change, ability to multi task, work within a team and handle stress. Honesty, integrity and a love for food service.
